When not properly managed, freight and shipping costs will significantly drain any company's resources…both financial and personnel. That's why Land-Link is an essential partner for any business with substantial logistics and freight costs. Years of hands-on experience—Land-Link's staff has an average of 16 years in the industry—has given us an unparalleled insight into the best practices for freight cost containment. Simply put, we know what works, and what doesn't. And with Land-Link managing your logistics, you'll notice right away how our experience helps your bottom line.

Land-Link manages and awards millions of dollars in freight each year on behalf of our clients. That high volume gives us access to dramatically reduced freight rates that individual shippers simply cannot obtain. It's taken us millions of dollars and decades of shipping to earn these rates. You'll have them from Day 1. As a fully-integrated logistics and freight management company, Land-Link is capable of handling everything.

Inbound and Outbound Freight Management Programs

Effective procurement, production scheduling, and outbound order fill rates are critical to organizational success. Land-Link provides both full-scale inbound and outbound freight management programs intended to drive the highest of service levels and customer satisfaction. In either case, Land-Link traces every shipment from pickup to final destination to ensure effective delivery, damage free and on time.

In the case of inbound logistics, Land-Link routinely provides clients with authored inbound routing guides for dissemination to vendors along with vendor management support, effective routing, and vendor compliance controls and measurement. As a result, vendor compliance is enhanced, inbound transportation costs are reduced, and dock congestion is minimized. These are just a few of the benefits. Avoid and minimize production downtime and inventory shortages. Increase outbound order fill rates and customer satisfaction. Both domestic and international supplier orders supported.

An effective outbound program is of equal importance. Outbound transportation charges are optimized. Routing guide compliance is maximized, and as a result, charge-backs are avoided. The end result is a satisfied customer.

Reverse Logistics

No one likes returns, but their negative impact can be minimized thru proper routing, scheduling, and effective management. Land-Link can provide all of these and more. Gaining a full understanding of the client's reverse logistics environment is key. Once that understanding is developed, Land-Link is able to recommend and implement the best process for the client, one that is designed to mitigate the losses associated with diminished product value, handling costs, and transportation. Effective year-end buy-back programs fully supported.

Purchase Order and Customer Order Control

Effective control over purchase orders and customer orders is necessary for supply-chain success. Land-Link supports automated downloads of purchase order and customer order files as needed and is capable of supporting virtually any data format. Transmission is typically facilitated via secured FTP site. The orders are stored in Land-Link's system where they await scheduling per the terms of the order thereby avoiding early or late delivery. Blanket orders with multiple releases, order cancellations, and back-orders supported.

Freight Consolidation

Within constraints, Land-Link is able to provide effective consolidation for its clients. Certainly, the ability to execute multi-consignee consolidation is dependant on a number of variable and constraints, but conditions, permitting, Land-Link can maximize consolidation opportunities. With respect to like-consignee consolidation, Land-Link utilizes calculated "shipping windows" based on order specific dates, must ship by, must delivery by, and cancel dates. Routing guide compliance is considered.
