How do you feel about driver shortage, is this a myth or reality?

Has government involvement helped the position we are in when considering this issue?

The law which was enacted (MAP-21) to protect the motoring public from Commercial drivers being able to obtain a driver license in more than one state, not being able to hide behind poor driving records, worth the added cost these new regulations will generate?

The new regulations concerning hours of service, how many hours can be driven without a mandatory break. Do you believe this will have an effect on less deaths and accidents on our highways? Is this regulation worth the cost? Does the government know when a person needs a break or does the driver know when he needs a break? Since drivers will make less money due to less driving time, will they move on to better paying jobs in a different industry? What do you think the answer should be?
