With the significant expansion of its ExpressRail system and enhanced inland connections, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is advancing its role as the gateway of choice for speeding cargo to a growing number of destinations in the Midwest, New England, Canada and beyond.

A commitment of more than $4 billion by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will ensure that the Port is ready to handle projected future volumes and the increasingly larger vessels that will carry that cargo. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to deepen the harbor to accommodate larger, deeper-draft vessels. A primary goal of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's port improvement program is providing superior ocean access to accommodate the demand for international cargo through our region. This will improve navigational safety and allow the port to accommodate the next generations of larger cargo vessels. Terminal operating partners will also continue to make additional investments to modernize their facilities.
